Shipping of any size unframed original art within the continental United States is FREE. Due to the excessive size of stretched canvas original art and associated shipping costs, shipments to Hawaii, Alaska and international destinations can be quite expensive.
Should any customer outside the continental United States want a stretched canvas shipped, I can still accommodate you. Please contact me if you desire this option and I’ll quote you actual shipping charges to your destination. Optionally, the original canvas can be un-stretched and rolled in a tube for more reasonable shipping costs noted below. However, if using this method, the painting is non-refundable. Shipping charges are as follows:
Location | Shipping Cost |
---|---|
Continental US | Free |
Hawaii & Alaska (Shipping Tube only) | $20 USD |
Canada & Mexico (Shipping Tube only) | $35 USD |
All Other International Locations (Shipping Tube only) | $50 USD |
Fine Art America (FAA) and Redbubble products can be shipped worldwide anywhere that UPS or Fedex delivers. Exact shipping charges for FAA products are calculated prior to checkout.
The size of the painting will determine the type of packaging box. Smaller paintings may fit into a standard shipping box while larger paintings require a custom size box. However, all paintings will first be wrapped in a plastic bag and then bubble wrapped to cushion the painting. It is then surrounded by another cushion such as a foam core or layers of cardboard. Lastly, it is then surrounded by a puncture proof liner before being placed in a cardboard box for shipping. By creating custom packaging, I can be assured that the painting will arrive undamaged. Even with this kind of packaging, I always insure the original painting for it’s full value.
Fine Art America and Redbubble take similar care in the packaging of it’s products as well as offering replacement products for damage as well as satisfaction guaranteed refunds.
I use either USPS, Fedex or UPS ground to ship your package. The choice depends on cost of shipping and the amount of insurance allowed by the carrier. You will be provided with a tracking number through the shipping process.
Fine Art America products are shipped via UPS or Fedex. Redbubble uses UPS, FedEx, DHL, as well as the distribution expertise of local postal services including USPS.
Original painting orders will be shipped the next business day after validated payment has been received, if proper packaging in in stock. Shipping can take between 5-9 business days for continental United States orders. If proper packaging is not in stock, delivery will be within 2 weeks of your validated payment.
Fine Art America products are shipped within 3-4 business days of your order. Everything at Fine Art America is printed and manufactured “on demand”. They don’t have any pre-made products sitting on their shelves. Check the Redbubble shipping page for their details.
Yes, insurance for original paintings is included FREE with your order. All orders are insured for the value of the art being shipped.
Fine Art America and Redbubble will send a replacement if a product is damaged during shipping.
If your order arrives visibly damaged, please do not accept shipment from the carrier. If this is not possible, please carefully unwrap your package and examine the painting for damage. You MUSTÂ retain all shipping materials and take photos of the damage and packaging in order for a claim to be filed with the shipping carrier. Please notify me immediately and I will send further instructions based on the shipping carrier.
Since this is an original piece of art, I will refund your money in full (minus any shipping/packaging/payment costs) after the claims process has been completed with the shipping carrier.
For products from Fine Art America, they have their own process for handling shipping damage. You must contact them directly and they will send out a replacement product. Similarly with Redbubble, you must contact them directly to have a replacement product sent out.
Yes, I will ship internationally to countries where ‘Paypal Send & Receive’ is available. However, your order will be shipped as rolled canvas inside a shipping tube or per actual shipping charges if you want a stretched canvas shipped.
Be aware that due to the large and constant number of international scams, I will screen international buyers with much more scrutiny and may require longer waiting periods to validate proper payment. Requests to use other forms of payment than what I already accept or to use alternate shipping companies will be treated as a potential scam.
Fine Art America and Redbubble ships internationally wherever Fedex & UPS delivers.
Shipping to a PO Box does limit my shipping choices and may extend the delivery times. Additionally, since the packages I am shipping are larger than most PO boxes, we highly recommend a direct address. However, if you are certain your mail box facility can handle larger packages for you, I will ship to your PO box. I assume no responsibility for packages once they have been received by your mail box facility.
I am sorry but I am unable to ship to APO/FPO addresses.
Yes, the ordering process for originals works in conjunction with Paypal Business solutions. Paypal is an industry leader in online payment processing. They provide you with secure online ordering including data encryption, address verification, card security code checks, fraud prevention and dispute resolution assistance. In fact, your financial data is kept completely secure that even I don’t see it. Paypal manages the entire financial transaction and only notifies me upon receipt of payment. Your credit card, bank info or Paypal data is never sent to me.
Also, the ordering process on my website for Fine Art America (FAA) is also secure. FAA has created the ability for me to offer you sales directly off my website. These are done in a secure frame hosted on their site yet embedded on my web pages. The frame widget used is just as secure as if being on the FAA site. When you proceed to checkout, you’ll notice a green lock icon on the checkout page denoting that it is a secure iframe form protecting your financial information.
Ordering from Redbubble is done directly off their site which is also a secure server.
Through Paypal, IÂ accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. I also accept direct bank and Paypal transfers. Though, I work in conjunction with Paypal, you do not need a Paypal account to make a purchase.
Fine Art America and Redbubble accepts major credit cards and Paypal.
By law, I am required to charge sales tax to all orders sent to California addresses. Sales tax is 8.00% of the purchase price excluding any shipping costs. Orders sent to addresses outside the state of California are exempt from sales tax.
Orders from Fine Art America & Redbubble charge tax based on their store/factory locations. See their sites for specific details.
Depending on the original painting and total cost of an order, I may offer a discount. This is especially true if purchasing multiple original paintings. Please contact me for possible discounts.
For orders from Fine Art America (FAA), I will consider offering a discount for multiple orders. However, you must contact me prior to placing your order with FAA so that I can create and give you a discount code when placing your order. Please note that the markup margin from FAA is quite small so I don’t have as much flexibility as I do for my original paintings.
Redbubble currently does not off me the ability to create discounts at this time.
I have a safe and secure online shopping cart system that works in conjunction with Paypal. View a painting from one of my galleries. Below the large view of the painting on the right side is a ‘Buy Now’ button. This will add the original painting into your cart and your viewing web page will change to show the item you are purchasing. If you have a Paypal account, you’ll be prompted for login information. If you don’t have a Paypal account, you can proceed forward with payment information or create and account.
Whenever you are viewing your shopping cart, you are on the secure Paypal site. You are not required to have a Paypal account to proceed with your transaction. You can enter your credit card info securely on the checkout page or enter your Paypal login info to access your Paypal payment methods. Shipping is free for original paintings in the continental US and tax will be calculated for you. Upon completion of your purchase, you will receive and email confirmation from both Paypal and myself.
By using this method, your financial information is kept completely secure, even from me. Only your shipping and contact info is forwarded to me.
For all other products, you are ordering directly from Fine Art America (FAA) or Redbubble. Below the image and description of my paintings & photographs is a section devoted to the different products and configuration you can order. Once you select the product type and configure as you wish, the item is added to the FAA shopping cart. The FFA shopping cart is in a safe and secure window frame. You will be prompted for your payment information and will receive a confirmation from FAA. If ordering from Redbubble, you will be taking directly to their site.

I use Corel Painter as my digital art software. I start with a blank digital canvas and use the software tools(brushes) to create my images. Everything on the digital canvas is hand painted (every leaf, petal, hair, fur, etc). Each color is meticulously selected, blended and painted on the digital canvas. There are no shortcuts or no single button pushes that make a painting appear from nothing. Even for paintings created from photos, I paint every pixel using the software brushes. This is not a phone app that just renders a photo to look like a painted image. This is a true painted image just using digital brushes as my tools.
The amount of time I take to produce a digital image is similar to that of traditional painting. I still need to spend hours studying my subject, selecting my color palette and determining which brushes to use. There are many hours spent placing color over color, blending to just the right hue, using different brushes to achieve a life like result and insuring my unique style is achieved.
The final digital art can then be reproduced from a variety of fine art printers using archival inks on high quality canvas. While the original remains in the digital realm, the resulting giclee is a piece of fine art.
When I have the painting reproduced to deliver to a client, I will have the digital image reproduced on canvas and then essentially touch-up or repaint the entire canvas to insure that the art is true to my original colors as well as having an artist’s brush strokes embedded in the work.
For me, a mixed media painting is still fine art. A traditional artist uses tools such as brushes, paint & canvas to turn their inspirations into a tangible piece of fine art. Mixed Media/Digital Art paintings are only different in that I am using different tools to turn my inspirations into fine art. With the advent of new technology, the tools may have changed but the artist’s knowledge of perspective, colors, blending, lighting and creative composition and much more are still required. If you have never painted before, giving you a computer & painting software will not make you an accomplished artist.

If you like my style of painting, I would be more than willing to discuss any particular scene or scenario that you would like to have painted. This can range from creating art from a photograph to just an idea for something you like. Generally, I will create an approximate digital image to be painted for your review. From there, I will create the painting of your subject matter. Costs will be based on canvas size and exclusivity of the finished painting but will be more than reasonable. Once you have decided on a subject matter and reviewed an approximate digital image, a 50% deposit is required to start. The balance will be due upon completion of the painting. Commissioned works are non-refundable but I will work with you to insure your satisfaction. For examples of some of my commissioned art, click here. If this is an option you would like, please do not hesitate to contact me  for more information.
Each original painting includes a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) signed by the artist. The COA shows an image of the painting, year of creation and a short statement about the artwork and artist. Care and handling instructions are also included.
The photos are taken with a professional level camera (Canon 5D Mark III) and usually a 50mm portrait lens. I take great care to insure the colors are as accurate a possible and truly represent the artwork. That said, the device you are using to view the website may change the colors depending on the graphics rendering of your viewing device.
Additionally, the images on the website are optimized to load quickly while still representing the artwork. That means the images are smaller in size (pixels) as well as optimized & compressed for faster load times. Therefore, zooming up very closely on any image on the website will be significantly grainier and more pixelated than the original photo and artwork.
If you are interested in viewing a full size image of any of my works, please contact me and I will send you a full size image or at least one that your email can receive.

Your complete satisfaction is my primary concern. If you are dissatisfied with an original painting for any reason, you may return it within 15 days for a full refund minus any shipping/packaging/payment charges. The returned order must be in new and re-sellable condition. Orders outside the continental United States that are chosen to be shipped via a rolled canvas in a tube are non-refundable. Commissioned paintings are non-refundable as well though I will work closely with you throughout the process to insure your satisfaction.
Orders through Fine Art America have a satisfaction guarantee as well:

My goal is your satisfaction and a beautiful piece of art that you can enjoy. In most cases, I limit the size of prints not to be much larger than the original even though the image I provide to them can be scaled up higher. This is to insure that the image is not blurred or compromised. If my current online art service is unable to provide you with the size or media option you desire, please contact me to discuss other options and availability.
Yes, my online art service vendor, Fine Art America and Redbubble, does provide framed, ready to hang giclees, prints, posters and other options. If you are looking for a framed original, I would suggest you purchase the frame separately once you have the original in your possession. The cost of shipping the frame with the painting can get quite expensive. However, I’ll be happy to provide you with various frames options to chose from at a reasonable cost. I’ll quote you my cost for the frame plus any additional shipping/packaging costs due to the extra size and weight of the frame.
Original canvas paintings use 100% duck cotton canvas and are gallery wrapped (stretched around the 3/4″ thick pine bars and are held in place with a durable vinyl spine making them staple free). I paint my originals around the sides so that they can be hung in place without a frame, if desired. My smaller paintings are sometimes done on canvas board which is 100% duck cotton on an acid free hardboard core.
Giclée (pronouned ‘zhee-clay’) in French means ‘a spray or squirt of liquid’. This is the method used to create fine art reproductions with amazing resolution and clarity. Giclées are produced from a digital image or scan of the original art. The digital image is then sent to a high quality printer which can print on a variety of mediums (canvas, papers, etc). The inks used are not standard home quality printer inks but pigmented inks which are meant to last without fading or cracking. Depending on the printer, it may use between 6-12 different inks to produce the colors on the medium. Without exposure to sunlight, the inks will not show any fading for well over 100 years.
